Vegan Eggnog – A Great Twist to a Classic Holiday Drink
The classic holiday drink
Eggnog is such a classic holiday beverage enjoyed during the winter months. I wish I could say I grew up drinking eggnog every Christmas with my family, but it just was not a tradition we had in my home. With a few requests, I decided to create this Vegan Eggnog Recipe for those that want to keep their own traditions alive and maintain their plant-based, vegan lifestyle.
Such a simple yet delicious recipe
This recipe is very simple, minimal ingredients, and can be tailored to meet your personal preference. One requirement for the recipe is a blender. I have tested the recipe using my very simple, affordable Magic Bullet Blender and it turned out great!
This recipe uses a mixture of cashews and almonds to create a balance between the different nut flavors. Specifically, the cashews help to naturally thicken the eggnog. The various spices help to give the eggnog a deliciously warm and flavorful effect.
Spice up your Vegan Eggnog!
If you wish to make your eggnog a bit more exquisite, then you can add a touch of some liquor. I would suggest one of the following:
- Brandy
- Bourbon Whiskey
- American Whiskey
- Cognac

TIPS & TRICKS
- Soaking Cashews: If you don’t have enough time to soak your cashews overnight, then soak them in hot water and covered for 10 minutes to soften.
- Thickness: Start with a 1:1 ratio for cashews to almond milk, then slowly add in more almond milk to reach your desired consistency.
- Make it Boozy: If you want to add some liquor, then add 1 ounce per serving.

Almond Milk
Almond milk is a great neutral nut milk that can be used to replace regular dairy in recipes. You can easily find it in the stores and I would recommend getting the unsweetened and unflavored variety. Otherwise, I highly recommend making it yourself! Give my recipe a try !
