Homemade Green Juice – Made Fresh to Quench Your Thirst

Whether you want to eat healthier, clear up your skin, or boost your metabolism, the solution is Green Juice! I may be biased, but I believe juice is absolutely amazing and when the results are as good as this, I cannot help but preach Green Juice to the world.

This recipe is friendly for all diets, whether you are plant-based, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, paleo, keto, or really anything else!

The Benefits

I have been drinking Green Juice for about 3 years now and I notice a huge difference when I am able to incorporate juice into my routine.

My skin becomes smooth and blemish-free, my taste buds improve and allow me to enjoy healthier foods, and my metabolism increases.

Affordable Juicing

If I could have it my way I would drink a Green Juice every single day. I have heard it countless times before and many think that juice is too expensive. BUT, I am here to tell you otherwise! It is actually incredibly affordable if you just make it yourself.

I decided to head to Whole Foods one day to test my theory. I bought all the ingredients and it cost $9.57. With all my ingredients, I was able to make 96 ounces of juice! 

Of course, this did not include the cost of my blender or my nut milk bag, but you get the idea. In general, making your own juice should be very easy and affordable!

Reusable Nut Milk Bag

You do not need to go out and buy a fancy juicer to make your own juice successfully at home. If you have the budget to get one, then absolutely go for it. 

If not, then all you need is a Blender (a high-speed blender will always be the best) and a Nut Milk Bag or Cheesecloth.

I recommend using a Nut Milk Bag because it is reusable so it is better for the environment and will save you money in the long run because Cheesecloths aren’t that cheap.

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • Load the blender first with leafy greens and then solid items to help the blender blend better.
  • Add more or less of the greens you like to meet your preference.
  • Add more or less lemon, apple, and ginger until you find what your palette prefers.
  • Twist and knead the nut milk bag or cheesecloth to help strain the juice.

All the vegetables that are included in the Green Juice recipe are all selected because of their amazing benefits.

I want to expand on the benefits of Green Apple, Lemon, and Ginger because they may not be as widely known.

  • Lemon is great for digestion and it helps to boost your metabolism. Lemon also helps to give the Green Juice a more pleasant taste haha.
  • Green Apple is optional and mainly because it is mostly to help benefit the taste of the juice, but it is one of the “healthier” types of apples.
  • Ginger is another great source to help with digestion. The ginger also adds a nice spicy flavor. It is optional because for some that may not be ideal.

Homemade Green Juice

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Water not needed if using a juicer
  • 2 cup Kale packed (6-8 stems)
  • 2 cup Spinach packed
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 3 Stalks of Celery
  • 1 Lemon juiced
  • 1 Green Apple optional
  • 1-2 inch Ginger Root optional

Instructions

  • You must wash everything thoroughly!
  • Remove the stems from the Kale. Chop up the rest of the ingredients to be blended more easily.
  • Load the blender in the order of ingredients listed (always want to have the more leaf ingredients towards the bottom of the blender).
  • Blend everything, then pour everything into the nut milk bag or cheesecloth. Strain the juice out. It helps to twist and knead.
  • Store the juice into airtight containers and let it sit until it reaches room temperature before storing in the fridge and ENJOY!
