Enjoy Some Island Flavor
Hello Nutti’s! One thing I love to do is infuse my Hawaiian heritage into my recipes. With Fourth of July coming up, I decided to make these Pineapple Habanero Cauliflower Wings!
I LOVE Pineapple
Growing up in Hawaii, my favorite fruit would definitely have to be pineapple. I love it alone or when mixed in with other food! I’d have to say it’s also the most iconic Hawaiian food and is a staple in many Hawaiian dishes.

The Perfect Cauliflower Wing
With this in mind, I couldn’t help but balance the spicy habanero peppers with some sweet pineapple! The mix works perfectly and is a fun twist on mango habanero wings that everyone makes.
These wings are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. If you can’t handle the heat you are more than welcome to leave out the habanero and enjoy the tropical taste of pineapple. I promise vegan or not you’ll ENJOY these wings!

Pineapple Habanero Cauliflower Wings
Ingredients
- 1 head Cauliflower
- 2 cup Water
- 1½ cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 2 tbsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Black Pepper
- 4 cup Fresh Pineapple if available
- 1 Habanero Pepper
- 4 cloves Garlic
- ¼ cup Brown Sugar
- ¼ cup Agave Nectar
- 2 tsp Soy Sauce
- 2 tsp Rice Vinegar
- 3 tbsp Lime Juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Prepare the baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- Cube the pineapple and chop the habanero and garlic.
- Wash and cut the cauliflower into bite size pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine water, flour, onion powder, and black pepper. Add the cauliflower and fully coat it.
- Remove cauliflower piece by piece with a fork to remove excess batter. Transfer to your baking sheet.
- In a food processor or blender, blend pineapple, habanero, garlic, sugar, agave, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and lime juice.
- In a saucepan, heat blended sauce at medium-high until simmering. Once simmering, turn heat down to medium and simmer for 20 minutes to reduce sauce.
- Bake the cauliflower for 35 minutes. Flip the cauliflower after 20 minutes.
- After baking for 35 minutes, coat cauliflower in sauce. Place cauliflower back on baking pan. Bake for 5 more minutes.
- Optionally serve with fresh green onion. Enjoy!
